Mail.com is the best personalized free web-based email.

I've been used through two years at mail.com. That is as good as this from the beginning and until recently was also very pleased with this free e-mail service. But what bothers me the last few months but more and more, but in turn, until a time a few facts.

Personal Firewall Filtering modes

In ESET Smart Security, the personal firewall supports 5 modes of filtering traffic. The level of user interaction and behavior of the firewall changes based on the selected mode.

1.Automatic mode - This is the default mode and is suitable if you do not need to define rules. The automatic mode allows all outbound traffic for the given system and blocks all new connections initiated from the network side.
2.Automatic mode with exceptions (user-defined rules) - Enables you to add custom rules.
3.Interactive mode - Allows custom configurations. When a communication is detected without a corresponding rule, a dialog window displays with the option to allow or deny the communication. You also has the option to create a new rule to always allow or deny all similar communications in the future.
4.Policy-based mode - Blocks all connections that are not defined by a specific rule to allows them. This mode allows advanced users to define rules that permit only desired and secure connections.
5.Learning mode - Automatically creates and saves rules and is suitable for initial configuration of the Personal firewall. No user interaction is required, because ESET Smart Security saves rules according to predefined parameters. The Learning mode is not secure, and should only used until all rules for required communications have been created.

ESET Personal Firewall Log

The personal firewall incorporated in ESET Smart Security saves important events in a log file, which can be viewed directly from the main program menu. Click Tools > Log files and then select ESET personal firewall log from the Log drop-down menu..

The log files are an invaluable tool for detecting errors and revealing intrusions into the system, and should be given appropriate attention. ESET personal firewall logs contain the following data:

date and time of event
date and time of event
source and target network address
network communication protocol
rule applied, or name of worm, if identified
application involved

A thorough analysis of this data can help detect attempts to compromise system security. Many other factors indicate potential security risks and allow the user to minimize their impact: too frequent connections from unknown locations, multiple attempts to establish connections, unknown applications communicating, unusual port numbers used.

Scheduler Tool

Scheduler is available if the Advanced mode in ESET Smart Security is activated. It can be found in the ESET Smart Security main menu as a submenu of the Tools section. Scheduler contains a summary list of all scheduled tasks and their configuration properties such as the predefined date, time, and scanning profile used.

Scheduler manages and launches scheduled tasks with predefined configuration and properties. The configuration and properties contain information such as the date and time as well as specified profiles to be used during execution of the task.
